The Power of Coaching
at the Narrative Level

This is a unique opportunity to learn about narrative coaching from its founder. This powerful work blends narrative and Jungian psychologies, rites of passage, and a whole systems approach to teach coaches how to work in new ways with clients and their stories.

In this workshop, led by Dr David B. Drake from the US-based Center for Narrative Coaching, you will:

  • Learn the essentials of a narrative perspective on how people develop and grow
  • Learn the fundamentals of narrative structure and function as a guide to working with stories
  • Use the Narrative Field™ to plot influences on clients’ stories and create paths to change
  • Use the Narrative Diamond™ to listen in new ways and turn ordinary client stories into extraordinary learning moments
  • Learn strategies abut how to deal with common issues around clients and their stories, e.g., lack of ownership
  • Deepen your understanding of the role of the coach and the true nature of coaching when seen through a narrative lens
  • Reflect on the stories you bring to your work and how to be more courageous and congruent on behalf of those you serve

You will leave with a deeper appreciation for the nature and power of stories, a greater ability to navigate narrative space, and tools for eliciting and working with people’s stories to help them make transformative changes in their lives, organisations and communities.
